
The HWE Maintenance Services Australian Supermoto National Championships was conducted today (Friday) and at the conclusion of qualifying in the anti-clockwise direction it was Davide Gozzini who headed the time-sheets.
With practice and qualifying complete for the Counter Clockwise Round 1 which will be run on Saturday 28th November it was Davide Gozzini (Franzone TM Racing 450) who produced a scorching lap of the 1.1km track in S1 class with a best ever time of 59.874 seconds. The Italian is 1.040 seconds ahead of second placed Angus Reekie (Motorex KTM 450) with Linden Magee (Kawasaki Australia 450) third fastest. Liam Robertson (Mandurah City Motorcycles Yamaha YZF 450) was the best of the local riders in fourth place.
In the S2 class Angus Reekie (Motorex KTM 505) heads up a small but talented field with a lap of 1:01.047 seconds, he was 1.362 seconds ahead of Linden Magee (Kawasaki Australia 470) back in second place. Third place went to Christian Iddon on the Gold Coast Aprilia 550. Best of the locals was Ian Gray (Franzone TM Racing 530) in fifth position.
Racing for Round 1 will commence at 10.00am on Saturday.
