British Championship, Foxhill Moto Park 26th July
CCM RACING/TM PRESS

The famous Foxhill circuit in Swindon, Wiltshire was to play host to Round 6 of the British Motocross Championships last weekend, the rain forecast for the weekend did not materialize and the track was tacky.

Stuart took to the track on the mighty TM 450 in the MX 1 qualifier and after a brief period on initialisation began to put in some respectable times, as the track continued to dry the times began to come down and with only minutes to spare Stuart recorded a blistering lap that would see him jump to thirteenth place on times and secure him a valuable early pick of the gate for the two scheduled races on todays program.

Thrity-five riders made their way to the line to began the 30 minute plus 2 laps race. Stuart got a reasonable start and as they exited the 180 degree first turn he was comfortably in the early teens, mid-way through and now settled Stuart was running a good consistent pace on the TM that would see him slowly gaining on his tiring rivals in front. Now into a good rhythm Stuart pushed on hard late in the race and he began to close the gap to those in front, with the riders now beginning to space themselves out it was a 'one at a time' affair to make up ground and therefore places, after disposing of Lewis and then Smyth for ninth place Stuart, with only a lap remaining, began to set his sights on Mackenzie but it was not to be, the chequered flag signalled the end of race one and Stuart's best placing so far this year in a British Championship race of ninth.

Stuart again in race 2 made a decent start and settled to a good rhythm once more. slowly he began to make progress on those in front and once more the TM powered him around the circuit closing the gap to his rivals. With Lewis there for the taking, and the possibility of another ninth place result, Stuart honed in and made a charge, a charge that was to be too much after racing on Saturday in the Ulster  Championship and travelling overnight to compete on Sunday, and exhaustion got the better of him. With Noble charging from behind Stuart was relagated to eleventh and with nothnig in the tank Stuart decided a solid finish was the safer option than pushing and making mistakes and he finished race two in a respectable eleventh place, securing tenth overall on the day and more valuable British Championship points.

“Its great to break into the top ten finally. I have been getting better results each time and want to keep going higher in the field. The track was great today and my TM 450 was very strong up the famous hills”
