The 25th and 26th of August took place at Palm Beach International Raceway the 8th race of the CCS Championship.
Saturday, unfortunately, a thunderstorm shortened the Free practive and Vito Candela on the TM 660 SMX TMracing.it / Hudlett Racing / Rocca delle Macie was able to practive very little preferring to avoid a crash in the dreadful condition.
On Sunday racing started with a very slippery track who had lost all the rubber do to the heavy rain.
In Amateur GT Light, Candela battle the whole race with Tony Diaz/Ducati 1000 and Jason Mortimer on a Honda 125 GP, finishing the race in second place after Mortimer.
In Amateur GP Lightweight again a fantastic battle between Candela, Mortimer and Diaz, saw Diaz won and Candela finish in third place with some issues with a slipping clutch.
In Amateur Thunderbike Candela had to start from Pit lane being late on the starting grid, and after lap after lap, and completely exhausted, was able to finish 3rd after Von Lignau on a Ducati 749 and Vazquez on a Bimota 1000.
In Amateur Lightweight Formula 40 Candela from the start decided that this was his race and starting pulling away from the group and only Diaz was able to stay with. Every lap Candela and Diaz were passing each other but Diaz was able to pass Candela only on the back straight do to a speed difference between the TM 660 and the Ducati 1000.
On the last lap, Candela charged through the chicane sending a clear message to Diaz that he was going to win this race at all cost and so it was, finally Candela finished 1st with a fast lap of 1.289.
Again a great Sunday for TM and Candela.
On the podium Candela thanked the Serafini family/owners of TM, Hudlett Racing and Motocorse for the fantastic bike they provided once again.
See you at PBIR August 22 / 23.
