Santiago de Compostela, the spanish town famous for Santiagos’s walk, hosted last weekend the second round of the Enduro GP, the first for our Junior riders.
The race weekend was characterized by bad weather and especially in Day 2 a heavy downpour crashed throughout the day of competition making the three special tests at the limit of practicability.
The TM Racing Factory Team arrived in Spain to complete with Eero Remes deployed in the E2 class and in the Enduro GP while the Italian riders Davide Soreca and Andrea Verona both compete for the Junior title.
Eero Remes was among the protagonists of the E2 class and the Enduro GP in the Santiago de Compostela GP and his final score is a second place in the E2 class and Enduro GP in Day One while in the second day of competition he collected a third of class and a fifth place in the assoluta.
In the Junior our two bishops stood out and fought to the last breath for the first place. Andrea Verona ran an incredible race finishing second on the opening day and going to win the Day2. Unlucky weekend instead for Davide Soreca that closes the Spanish GP with a seventh place on the opening day, after having fought for the top positions, and a second place in Day 2 behind his teammate. In the separate standings our two bishops won the Junior 1 with Andrea Verona and the Junior 2 with Davide Soreca.
Next meeting 4, 5 and 6 May in Castelo Branco (Portugal) for the third GP of the World Enduro Championship.
On Saturday I had some problems with the motorcycle and I crashed several times but in any case the result was quite satisfactory. On Sunday, however, having left first, we lost a few seconds to open the path and create steps in the mud. I’m satisfied with the race weekend.
Saturday was a tough day because I started a bit ‘tense and I could not get good times so special after special demoralized me. Better on Sunday instead with more calm and some trick to the motorcycle I managed to get away from the good times even in the assoluta with a nice fight with Andrea. I’m happy and satisfied and now I have to continue like this.
A very nice race overall. Saturday day was top both from the point of view of the weather and the characteristics of the terrain with specials not too dug and therefore perfect for me to go. I started with a small mistake in the first extreme but during the race I managed to recover by finishing second in the Junior and first in Junior 1. Excellent result considering that it is my first day in the junior.
On Sunday, however, the adverse weather made the race more challenging and the Extreme very slippery, I managed however during the race to slowly increase the gap with the riders behind me.
