Mirecourt-Juvaincourt (France), 29 April 2018 – The circuit Mirecourt / Juvaincourt (88) hosted the first Round of the Inernational of France Supermoto on May 28th and 29th. On Saturday, the weather was particularly rainy, while on Sunday the sun shone, which allowed great races for riders and spectators. The event was organized by the Lunéville Moto Club.
INTERNATIONAL OF FRANCE: THOMAS CHAREYRE TAKES THE HEAD
The German rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt (Honda, Team L30 Racing) won Saturday’s qualifying in difficult conditions. A light rain makes the land particularly difficult to negotiate for all riders. Sunday starts in pole position for the two finals.
In the first race, it’s Sylvain Bidart (Honda Team luc1 Motorsport), who stands out in the lead after a perfectly controlled start. Everything changes on the second lap. Schmidt suffers a rubber drilling and must change his wheel. It’s done in 25 seconds, but leaves it stays in the last place. Meanwhile, Bidart had to yield to the pressure of Thomas Chareyre (TM team TC4), who takes the lead. Laurent Fath (KTM, MTR team) is therefore in third position, Germain Vincenot (Honda, team luc1 Motorsports) fourth and Rodrig Thain (Honda, insaneparts.com Team) fifth. Marc Schmidt starts an impressive comeback, but can’t do better than the 13th under the checkered flag.
In the second race, Sylvain Bidart is again in excellent shape and makes the holeshot. Marc Schmidt takes second place, followed by Thomas Chareyre, Rodrig Thain and Germain Vincenot (Honda Team luc1 Motorsport). Schmidt and Chareyre overtake Bidart on the second lap. The two leading riders face each other routinely, without the TM driver doubling his rival. But he manages on the twelfth lap and also wins the second race. Shortly after Schmidt, then Sylvain Bidart, Laurent Fath and Germain Vincenot.
Thomas Chareyre climbs on the highest step of the podium of the International of France, followed by Sylvain Bidart and Laurent Fath.
