CAVALLO AND PAVONI ON THE PODIUM, DENY WINS THE 125 CLASS AT THE DOUBLE ROUND OF THE ASSOLUTI
On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April the fourth and fifth round of the top Italian enduro championship took place in Colliano in the Province of Salerno.
The Campania-based weekend started to the isegna of the bad weather with a heavy downpour on Friday that made the three special tests to the limit of practicability, forcing the Motoclub Cento per Cento enduro team and the track inspector Mario Rinaldi to make the necessary changes to the Specials to ensure the smooth running of the race on Saturdays and Sundays.
Our riders had to compete with a race course as demanding as spectacular which included an Enduro Test lasting less than eight minutes, a natural Extreme much appreciated by the public present for the steep climbs and descents, followed by a CO and a Cross Test and then finish the lap at the paddock for the second CO.
Deny Philippaerts showed all his determination and experience in Colliano. On Day One he finished his performance in second position after a day full of twists but it is on Sunday that Deny Philippaerts surprised everyone by pulling out the claws and going to conquer the 125 class.
In the 250 4T class, an excellent performance for Matteo Cavallo who finished the opening day with a podium and entered the Top Ten of the Overall. On the following day, the Piemonte-based rider improved his score and at the end of the long day of racing he took second place in the 250 4T class and closed the weekend with an excellent seventh place in the Overall.
Matteo Pavoni in Colliano collected two second places in the 300 2T class, the young roder from Brescia raced as always, showing all his grit and determination.
In the Foreigners class Will Ruprecht finished the race weekend with two fifth positions while his score in the Overall was an eighth and a tenth place.
The Assoluti d’Italia di Enduro take a break to give way to the World Enduro Championship which will open its gates on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May in Lalin for the Spanish GP and the following weekend in Peso de Regua where the Portuguese GP will take place .
